A Day in the Life

We are seeking a Financial Consultant to join our Enterprise Operations Strategy finance team. This role will partner with the Gross Margin team to develop standard financial processes that improve collaboration across Enterprise Operations and our Operating Units (OUs) to deliver on gross margin improvement. This role will support Portfolio Margin Leaders in the development of business strategy alignment and execution.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the design and deployment of standard finance processes to support margin opportunity identification

  • Development of standard reporting and communications across Enterprise Operations and OUs

  • Prioritization process standard deployment 

  • Continuously monitor and appropriately prioritize pipeline of gross margin opportunities

  • Partner with Gross Margin Governance team and OU finance to streamline and define ongoing operating mechanisms (i.e., alignment of savings, investments and resources and tiered mgmt. approach to project governance)

  • Support development and reporting of shared goals and KPIs

  • Partner with OU finance to align project planning calendars (i.e., AOP, Strat Plan)

  • Partner with Innovation Excellence leader to deploy operations finance standards in R&D processes serving as primary point of contact for R&D Finance COE (attend R&D Finance Council to ensure better connectivity between Enterprise Operations and R&D Finance)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience in finance and/or accounting with a bachelor’s degree or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Comfort with ambiguity and change management

  • Has strong ability to partner with senior leadership and others, facilitates decision-making activities, builds relationship networks at all levels, and leads change

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating actionable insights and analysis

  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems

  • Solid financial and business management foundation

  • Experience in navigating and working within a matrix organization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$133,600.00 - $200,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/
