Key Responsibilities:

Client Assessment and Treatment Planning:

  • Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.

  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Utilize a strengths-based approach to empower clients, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Positive Reinforcement, Trauma-Informed Strategies, and skills-based approaches like CBT and DBT.

Direct Service Provision:

  • Provide behavioral interventions, including motivational interviewing, cognitive processing, and interpersonal/group dynamics.

  • Coordinate care with other service providers, such as primary care physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, treatments, and progress, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work collaboratively with case managers, therapists, and support staff to ensure effective coordination of care.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, teachers, counselors, and other professionals involved in the client’s care.

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Training and Professional Development:

  • Participate in staff development activities, including training and educational programs related to youth mental health services.

  • Complete required training to meet DMH standards and other professional development goals.

Group Support and Education:

  • Prepare and facilitate PSR group sessions as relevant to client treatment plan goals.

  • Assist clients in managing psychiatric, developmental, or substance use disorders while encouraging the use of natural resources and support systems.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field; or a combination of four years of relevant education and experience.

  • Preferred: Two years of experience working in the mental health or substance use field, including one-on-one or group services with a rehabilitation or recovery focus.

  • Other: Experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and Skills:

    • Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation techniques for mental health and/or substance use treatment.

    • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.
