A Day in the Life

This position is based out of Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in medical devices such as pacemakers, neurostimulators, implantable cardio-defibrillators and insulin pumps.  You will be a key member of a manufacturing team that is dedicated to safety, quality, continuous improvement and achieving production goals.

The Water Spider role is responsible for supporting the Battery Finishing area with a focused specialization on material replenishment. Some key responsibilities of this role are supplying new materials to the area, refilling raw materials to the production cells, moving in-process materials between production cells and more!

This is for a 2nd shift schedule.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations.
• Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
• Sets initial layouts, and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s).
• Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
• May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
• May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

• Previous experience using SAP.
• Desire to stand and move for extended period of time.
• Hands on, self-reliant, and strong attention to detail.
• Team player with high personal motivation.
• Work with minimal direction.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• High awareness of the importance of quality and safety.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient computer literacy skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

• Requires minimum of 4 years of experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$45,200.00 - $67,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
