JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Eberly College of Science (ECoS) Research Office is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, highly skilled professional for the position of Proposal and Awards Generalist 5.
This position will serve as the Post-Award lead, supervising three full-time employees and reporting to the Associate Director for Contracts. Work activities are performed in a large volume, fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment.
This position will serve as the primary post-award liaison with granting agencies, research institutions and universities, Office of Sponsored Programs, Research Accounting, Risk Management Office, Office of Technology Management, Office of Research Protections and all departments within the Eberly College of Science and other university departments.
A strong working knowledge of government regulations and University policies applicable to sponsored research is important.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Providing exceptional customer service to faculty and departmental administrators
Posting of all personnel paid on sponsored research
Review of monthly pre-clearing report and reconciliation of discrepancies
Oversee the management of all sponsored projects to include expenditure compliance with sponsor guidelines, project forecasting, resolution of sponsor invoicing/payment issues
Preparation of detailed invoicing that cannot be prepared by the research accounting office
Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports to sponsors; and authorization to close of all sponsored projects
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a Master’s degree or higher plus two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience would include:
Graduate of the ACOR Certification and Education Series (ACES) program and experience in University accounting and research administration preferred
University System experience such as: Strategic Information Management System (SIMS)/SIMS Budgets and SIMBA, SAP, Integrated Business Information System (IBIS), Employee Reimbursement System (ERS), eBuy+, Microsoft Office, Electronic Document Distribution System (eDDS), FIT
Knowledge of university financial policies and procedures
