A Day in the Life

The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work from another US-based Medtronic facility. Additional work locations may include:

• Fridley, Minnesota • North Haven, Connecticut
• Mansfield, Massachusetts
• Santa Ana/Irvine, California • Lafayette, Colorado

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for enabling and growing both internal and external strategic partnerships of the Global Technology and Innovation team. In this role, you will champion and cultivate an environment that enables efficiencies, accelerates innovations, and drives success across the science and technology community. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff and Strategy Partner of the Chief Technology Officer, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to build strategic relationships that advance our goals.

Your success in this role requires proficiency in strategy development, relationship building, program and project management, change management, as well as presentation and interpersonal skills. We seek a bold, inclusive thinker who can bring new ideas and create solutions for complex relationships. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial, as the candidate must quickly pivot in response to emerging opportunities and challenges. A background in science, technology, or engineering is valuable to address broad needs effectively.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external and internal partners, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring effective communication, collaboration and partnership fostering

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and execute operating mechanisms that ensure multiple touchpoints throughout the year to provide input and continuously improvement of key initiatives to deepen relationships across the enterprise and heighten the impact of the partnership.

PROJECT PLANNING AND EXECUTION

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for partnership initiatives, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.

INTERNAL COORDINATION

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams within the organization to support partnership activities, including legal, finance, corporate development, product development teams and others.

ISSUE RESOLUTION

  • Proactively identify potential issues or challenges in partnerships and work collaboratively to resolve them in a timely manner.

PERFORMANCE MONITORING

  • Track and evaluate partnership performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates and reports to senior management

RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with partnerships, maintaining a proactive approach
