About the role

Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing all phases of the project life cycle for seasonal event offerings/overlays and special events for Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Implements the project scope, from concept to operation, including but not limited to creative design, production, fabrication, technical integration, installation, costuming and makeup integration, and operational requirements for the oversight of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and execution. Communicates project status and issues to leadership and ensures compliance with UHU policies and creative entire intent. Determines strategies ensuring the successful completion of all tasks and/or assignments through all aspects of design, production, and operation from original concept through project close-out. Manages budgets, timelines, invoices, contracts, and vendor relationships, ensuring successful project execution. Partners with operational teams, handling Legal and Intellectual Property processes while leading production management through execution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Acts as the Responsible Individual for ensuring the Project is successfully established and integrated. As directed by UHU leadership, partners with the Entertainment team to develop, review, and manage project plans, scopes, and strategies, ensuring that the creative intent is developed within the Project’s parameters and the Company’s business objectives. Communicates all project information, status, deliverables, and project delays/concerns to leadership. Manages event budget and financial reporting/reconciliation such as submitting, tracking approving, and managing invoices and payments, handling contracting and contract management and monitoring vendor/contract milestones and payment schedules.
  • Develops the production schedule milestone to align with the overall Project goals and strategies. Monitors for changes or delays to the schedule, and forecasts potential timeline risks. This includes but is not limited to the evaluation of Contractor’s schedule performance and schedule coordination with other groups and departments. Creates initial charter documentation outlining Projects goals, objectives, milestones, staffing plans, topline budget, defined scope, assumptions, and risks. Ensures vendor relationships and performance are managed closely with frequent reports to SLT. Leads the development and integration of Statements of Work (SOWs), articles, RFPs, and contract documents and oversees the installation, operation, and strike of events. Obtains necessary permits, conducts design reviews, and managing bond waivers, deal memos, CCAs, and conducting the overall acceptance and operational testing processes.  Ensures final documentation, archiving, and project closeout are documented for new business model initiatives.
  • Drives cost estimation for scopes of work for all assigned projects. Reviews continually evolving design documents and estimates to ensure the projects are tracking on budget. Develops conceptual Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for projects prior to and in Blue Sky Phase to develop initial costs for business unit financial analysis. Creates “value engineering” (VE) components with the project team to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Oversees strategic sourcing and staffing plans to support project development and production efforts. Supports the bidding and awarding of Construction Documents and other work packages including developing a bidders list and managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Supports and assists the project teams with negotiating and procuring outside resources. Initiates requests for new Standard Term agreements and reviews the creation of new Work Authorization contracts. Creates grids and casting guidelines to meet operational budgets, develops expense and operating budgets, and identifies training and new staffing requirements.
