Summary of Job Duties:

To teach students in the subject area.
To develop curricula for use in the residential academic program which may be replicated and/or provided to schools throughout the state.
To support the school’s philosophy of providing instructional support to schools throughout the state.


Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in computer science or a comparable field with at least 18 graduate hours of computer science coursework is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach concurrent credit courses in programming and computer science at all levels. All candidates should demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching. Experience mentoring student research is a bonus. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience.


Additional Information:

The successful candidate will coach our robotics and programming competition teams. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in working with gifted students, teaching through technology, developing interdisciplinary curricula, team planning skills, and problem-solving skills congruent to a growing, dynamic academic program within a multidisciplinary institution.


As a residential community of learning, ASMSA’s core philosophy values the development of students’ interests and talents beyond the classroom. As such, faculty are expected to support student research, provide tutoring assistance, facilitate successful transitions for incoming students, promote the school through outreach programs, and contribute to the residential experience.
