Job Summary
The OPS Athletics Broadcast Assistant Producer is responsible for assisting in producing, coordinating, directing, and participating in the creative development and execution of live-game productions covering a variety of sports.Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the broadcast producer and/or assistant producer for broadcasts of FGCU’s 15 Division I sports.
- Coordinates with Athletics Broadcast Production Specialist to ensure all elements are prepared in advance of broadcast.
- Coordinates crew attendance for broadcasts.
- Communicates with institutional broadcast partners to ensure connectivity.
- Troubleshoots technical issues.
- Archives broadcast footage.
- Serves as primary contact for assigned broadcasts.
- Assists with setup and usage of related equipment.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
- This position requires a high school diploma.
- Experience with broadcast production implementation for collegiate sports.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization
- Experience with video hardware and software applications, such as: NewTek 3Play system, Ross video production equipment, Ross XPression graphics system, vMix streaming system, Daktronics videoboard systems, Nevco videoboard systems, video distribution via ESPN+ protocols, and/or RTMP protocols (comparable systems will be accepted).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of NCAA and ASUN Conference rules and regulations as they pertain to the job duties.
- Knowledge of broadcast production implementation focused on sports, preferably collegiate.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and ability to work in creative team and game day team environments.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision, under strict timelines, and in live conditions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and environments.
- Proficiency with broadcast/streaming production equipment and software.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
