About the Position

The Community Outreach Director coordinates and oversees Access to Justice outreach initiatives with community stakeholders, including participation at community events and coordination of informational workshops and legal assistance clinics. This position will work in collaboration with various departments in the judicial branch as well as community members and will utilize a creative and professional approach to create greater access to the courts for all people across Maricopa County.

Position Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, justice studies, law, social work, or a related field of study preferred

Experience:

• Three (3) years of court, legal or directly related experience

OR

Combined Education and Experience Qualifications:

• An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

• A completed Arizona Court Supervisor (ACS) certification or Certified Court Manager (CCM) certification may substitute for one year of experience.

Other Requirements:

• Valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Must be able to travel between multiple locations on a regular basis and operate an oversized vehicle.

Our Preferred Candidate Has:

• Two (2) years of supervisory experience

• Familiarity with court operations, procedures, and terminology

• Successful management of community partner relations

• Experience in grant research, writing and reporting

• Experience with program development, evaluation, and growth

• Bilingual Spanish/English

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Knowledge and experience working with diverse populations, including de-escalation techniques.

• Ability to manage work with limited resources and demonstrate problem-solving skills.

Skill in:

• Public speaking and presentation skills to diverse groups.

• The use of computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, word processing software and basic technical troubleshooting skills.

• Critical thinking and evaluation of information to determine the best solution.

• Monitoring and assessing the performance of support staff to make improvements or take corrective action.
