The Role at a Glance

We’re excited to bring on an Actuary, Annuity & RPS Strategic Modeling, to play an integral role in supporting strategic initiatives for Annuity and Retirement Plan Services business. This is a project-based role spanning multiple product lines. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, modeling and quantification of new regulatory requirements, implementation of cutting-edge modeling techniques, model consolidation, and projection analysis. The candidate is ultimately expected to understand the model as well as the business and uncover key business insight for management. 

 

The position will provide a great opportunity to gain exposure to a broad array of modeling purposes such as Valuation, Asset & Liability Management, Asset Adequacy Testing, Distributable Earnings and Free Cash Flow analysis as well as the opportunity to learn about the modeling techniques and tools used in the process.  

What you'll be doing

  • Research, model, and analyze financial projections that directly impact and drive success for the Annuity and Retirement Plan Services business.  

  • Develop and deliver insights on critical areas of focus, collaborating across key stakeholder groups including Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Capital Management, FP&A, Pricing, and M&A. 

  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders on development and implementation of reporting tools, methods, and analytics to support ongoing reserve and capital monitoring and reporting. 

  • Maintain and expand knowledge of annuity regulations, business trends and best practices. Stay current on potential regulation changes within the industry. 

  • Ensure thorough and organized documentation of analysis and findings. 
      

What we’re looking for

Must have: 

  • Actuarial modeling and/or projection experience in GGY-AXIS 
  • 7-10 years of actuarial experience, with substantial annuity experience 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory/accounting/capital frameworks (STAT/GAAP/Tax, RBC, EC) 
  • Understanding of capital markets and financial instruments (assets and derivatives) that support Annuity products 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Technical, programming, and problem-solving skills 
  • Priority setting, time management, and organizational skills 
  • FSA designation (preferred) or ASA designation (required) 

 Nice to have: 

  • Competency with Python, SQL, and Excel VBA 
  • Experience working with data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g. Dataiku, Tableau) 
  • Familiarity with modern data science approaches 
  • Annuity Pricing, ALM, CFT, and/or Financial Plan experience
