Senior Architect (Security) - Remote - Poland

This is an opportunity to shape the software that enables one of the largest platforms in the world!</p><p><strong>Partner with the best</strong></p><p>You'll be helping design Akamai's Anomaly Detection system and its scan modules to enable security researchers and security responders to quickly assess the state of Akamai systems at scale. You will participate in hiring Anomaly Detection staff in the United States and in Poland. You will provide leadership and guidance to software engineers and security researchers.</p><p>As an Architect Senior, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li>Collaborating with other Architects and Software Engineers to design systems for the detection of adversary action, including to detect if a given vulnerability exists and if the vulnerability has been exploited (Indicators of Compromise)</li><li>Keeping up to date with Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures of malware and malware authors as well as other information security adversaries.</li><li>Constructing mental models of Akamai’s distributed systems, and using them to identify improvements to the scanning tools and infrastructure to for detection of additional anomaly types</li><li>Leading an international team of Security Researchers as they use these scanning tools, and using their feedback to help shape enhancements to those tools</li><li>Providing expert advice during security incidents<br/> </li></ul><p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li>Have experience designing software systems for security applications in C/C++, Golang, or Rust</li><li>Have experience with complex systems analysis and modeling</li><li>Have experience as a team lead or manager</li><li>Have experience defining and deploying YARA rules, Metasploit modules, or similar detection tools</li><li>Have experience building exploit payloads and/or defenses based on vulnerability research</li><li>Extensive experience working in a Linux/UNIX environment, preferably with an emphasis on distributed systems</li><li>Have experience in Python and shell scripting</li><li><p>Demonstrate familiarity with Internet protocols including UDP, TCP, HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL</p><p> </p></li></ul><p><strong>Work in a way that works for you</strong></p><p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
