About the role

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant, reporting to the Manager of Legal Practice Support and Investment Management Practice Group. This position will be providing services to the Investment Management practice group, with a focus on matter experience and management efforts. This position is designed to provide the opportunity for continuous learning to fast-track your career. The focus on matter and experience management will put legal practice assistants at the forefront of legal innovation to understand the rapidly evolving demands from the Firm’s largest clients. This position will routinely engage with Practice Group attorneys and business professionals and gain significant analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Partners and Practice Group teams to extract critical client and matter data from legal documents.

  • Become comfortable in navigating client documentation to identify critical information and data that will inform market strategy.

  • Participate in maintenance of deal database and related tools.

  • Research private fund data, deal terms, and trends as directed.

  • Assist in preparation of client and conference presentations.

  • Coordinates communication, planning and action items across attorney and practice group support teams.

  • Supporting the practice group on matter experience portion of RFPs and Client Pitches, as required.

  • Active in driving the strategic initiatives and digital transformation of the practice

  • Generating reports based on matter experience for the practice group and leadership.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;

  • One (1) year of internship or professional experience preferred; professional services industry experience a plus.

  • Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated.

  • Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must.

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to excel in a team  environment

  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Flexibility to travel and work non-business hours at times as needed.

For positions in Washington D.C., the salary range for this job posting is

$50,900.00 - $81,425.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.  The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.  Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.  If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
