The Role: 

As a Director of Nursing at St. Joseph Hospital Orange, you will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery. Under the expert guidance of the Executive Director and Chief Nursing Officer, you will collaborate with our nursing leadership to orchestrate, oversee, and innovate within our critical care departments, rapid response team, and other pivotal areas. Your leadership will inspire St. Joseph Hospital caregivers to embody our core values and balanced commitments, fostering a culture of proactive, interdisciplinary collaboration across hospital functions to elevate patient care.

What You’ll Do:

  • Innovative Leader: Shape the vision and strategies for Critical Care Services, aligning with the hospital's strategic goals. Direct clinical and operational components, advancing shared governance and inter-professional engagement in decision-making.
  • Operational Maestro: Spearhead the development of nursing care processes, ensuring policies and practices are rooted in the latest research. Elevate the professional image of nursing through continuous staff recognition and development opportunities.
  • Morale Builder: Cultivate an empowering environment that fuels personal investment and excellence, aligning teams with a shared vision. Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and foster effective teamwork committed to organizational success.

  • Leadership Mentor: Lead, assess, and develop caregivers and managers within Critical Care Departments, guiding hiring, performance evaluations, and strategic advisement to the CNO.
  • Program Innovator: Design and refine programs based on comprehensive evaluations of financial, regulatory, marketing, and community needs.
  • Liaison Builder: Forge connections between Human Resources and business partners to ensure adherence to educational and regulatory standards.
  • Outcome Facilitator: Bridge departments and services to achieve optimal patient outcomes cost-effectively.
  • Quality Champion: Collaborate with physicians and medical directors to uphold quality standards in critical care services.
  • Project Manager: Prioritize and track special projects, ensuring ongoing progress and success.
