This job supports the daily functions of the clinical pharmacy team, including implementation, maintenance, and quality assurance of clinical pharmacy services. Demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and is committed to maintenance of clinical competency, continued professional growth, and advancement of pharmacy practice within the institution. Assists leadership with facilitating bidirectional communication throughout the department. Maintains 80% to 95% of time on direct patient care and quality improvement and 5%-20% on administrative function, depending on the number of clinical pharmacists supervised. This job must demonstrate actions consistent with company expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis, and serves as a role model to peers, residents, students, and technicians and is expected to foster a positive, collaborative, learning environment within the pharmacy department.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education
Required - Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency in Pharmacy Practice
Preferred - Post-Graduate Year 2 residency
Work Experience
Required - 1 year experience practicing in a hospital or academic setting
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all members of the health care team
Preferred - 3 years’ experience practicing in a hospital or academic setting
Leadership and teaching skills
Certifications
Required - Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice
Preferred - Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
