Senior Systems Engineer

Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior Systems Engineer to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management.  You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

What you’ll do:

• Lead structured problem-solving, requirement decomposition, and requirement verification activities.
• Support a technical or systems lead to define system requirements, test traceability, and support FMEA development with the design team.
• Participate or lead structured problem-solving events to collaboratively resolve issues.
• Drive program activities to meet program schedule milestones.
• Develop required design documentation, including functional block diagrams, FMEAs, drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and product test requirements.
• Develop appropriate documentation required to support product certifications.
• Work with Software teams to coordinate between software and product deliverables.
• Work in a highly collaborative, hybrid work environment.

What you need to succeed:

• Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
• Emerging leadership skills
• Demonstrated systems engineering fundamental skills. Including design by requirements, traceability, requirement verification and validation.
• Demonstrated experience with Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Knowledge of software design approaches (Agile, SaFE, etc.)
• Sound structured problem-solving skills and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• BS or higher in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university.
• 5+ years of engineering experience

Preferred:

• INCOSE ASEP certification
• Knowledge of cybersecurity methods and protocols, cloud service architectures (AWS, Azure), or low-power wireless communications protocols (BLE, Zigbee, ZWave)
