About our Clinical Trainer I position
Under the supervision and direction of the Area Services Director, analyzes, coordinates and facilitates the training needs of non-licensed staff members; provides HIPAA compliant, gold standard customer service and support to patients and co-workers by performing, with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Manages and supports a positive learning experience for trainees, residents, interns and externs.
What will you be doing!
• Exhibiting high degree of accountability, independent judgment, flexibility, and time management skills.
• Providing one-on-one training onsite and virtually; utilizes training checklists; reviews competencies; stays current on changes in health center protocol.
• Performs health center duties on a regularly scheduled basis in order to assure clinical skills are maintained.
• Providing non-judgmental, client-centered care, and provides accurate information by answering questions and providing appropriate resources.
• Demonstrating clinical expertise and skills in the following areas: Patient Education, Abortion and Family Planning Services, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, lab testing and policies, ultrasound, sterilization procedures, follow-up, EPIC, sterile technique, emergency practices and procedures, and regulatory compliance and organization procedures and policies
• Identifying, delivering, and evaluating training for individuals and groups in collaboration with Health Center Manager. Coaching individuals and groups to achieve desired performance outcomes. Assuring training delivery meets clinical standards and guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.
• As requested by supervisor, research, develop, and maintain training plans and materials. Consulting with subject matter experts to suggest content as necessary. Assures that training content meets clinical standards and guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Working with ASD/Clinical Trainer team to assess training needs, identify systems issues and barriers to effective delivery of training to develop cohesion and effectiveness of clinical training programs.
• Assuring that all training functions are accurately documented in a timely fashion in HealthLMS; performs audits as needed.
• Participating in constructive feedback processes with staff and team and incorporates feedback received to improve performance in the delivery of training programs.
• Supporting and encourages the inclusion of residents, interns, and externs into the provision of services within health centers. Acts as a consultant to Clinical Services Leadership to communicate and implement best practices to support a positive learning experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assisting Program or AA degree in Health Sciences or Nursing preferred
• CPR (current certificate
• Minimum of one year experience as a Senior Medical Assistant, PCTL, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
• Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of medical terminology and medical record documentation
• Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures used in a medical office environment
• Using electronic medical record system (EMR)
• Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Performing Ultrasound
• Abortion care experience
Location & Travel:
This role is headquartered at our Georgetown Road Health Center in Indianapolis and serves as a regional training resource for multiple health centers. The Clinical Trainer will regularly travel to provide in-person onboarding, education, and ongoing staff development at our locations in Indianapolis (Georgetown), Bloomington, Lafayette, New Albany, Lexington, and Louisville. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent regional travel and possess reliable transportation to meet the needs of the role.
Salary Range:
Indiana/Kentucky: $24.91 - $41.51 hourly
*Actual starting pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and the budgeted hiring range established for the position.
