The Title 1 funded Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) Behavior Coordinator oversees non-academic support of DAEP students and their parents. The role supports the Academic Administrator, Behavior and Instruction by researching behavior instances with previous districts, assisting with current referrals, reviewing Texas Record Exchange (TREx) documents, and by tracking transition for students as they go between campus and the DAEP campus.

This position offers a base salary around $62,000.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8am-5pm central time. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Oversee DAEP Student and parent non-academic support of students assigned to DAEP campus or as determined by need;
  • Facilitate and tracks transition plans between campuses;
  • Support Behavior and Instruction AA with research, outreach to districts, and discipline documentation collection;
  • Contact late starting or missing students by phone and work to quickly ensure a Strong Start at the school;
  • Serve as a liaison between students and/or Learning Coaches and teachers and/or administration;
  • Examine academic progress and activity of students on their caseload;
  • Initiate meaningful, recurring contact by phone with students and their Learning Coach;
  • If a student begins showing signs of academic decline as determined by course grades, log-ins, course activity and missing assignments, initiate larger student support interventions;
    • Arrange support conferences as needed to address performance concerns;
    • Assist students in creating plans to get back on track;
  • Provide outreach, training, and support to families who respond to Students First Check In surveys;
  • Support State testing expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Three (3) years of educational program management experience
  • Knowledge of Title 1 programming
  • Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extra-curricular activities
  • Restorative discipline and/or behavior training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Organizations skills, multi-tasking abilities
  • Customer service focus
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
  • Familiarity with the online learning experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, training and to support in-person testing
  • Ability to clear required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification
  • Behavior campus experience
  • Knowledge of/experience working with Chapter 37 education law
