Morrison Child & Family Services is immediately hiring an Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician to join our Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) team! Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC)IECMHC is a prevention-based approach that focuses on providing specialized support to the adults that care for young children in settings such as preschools, childcare, HeadStart programs, community-based home visiting programs, and their homes. Mental health consultation provides caregivers with skills and knowledge to effectively facilitate children’s healthy social and emotional development. IECMHC Consultants are highly trained professionals with a clinical background and specialized knowledge in child development, the effects of stress and trauma on families, the importance of attachment for young children, and the impacts of adult mental health on developing children. Consultants do not provide direct mental health treatment to children or their caregivers, but instead provide a prevention-based approach by developing relationships with their caregivers to build the capacity to support children’s health social and emotional development. The goal of consultation is preventing the need for formal mental health treatment or identifying the need for treatment early and improving outcomes. Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician Position Summary: Children and their caregivers are provided with in-person services in the community, home Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician Position provides support to the Infant & Early Child Mental Health Consultation team, with access and referral pathways to mental health outpatient services. This position will have a dual purpose of improving much needed access to Behavioral Health services while also providing an initial mental health assessment and utilizing the EPSDT benefit for low barrier access to developmentally appropriate behavioral health services. This position will provide additional services such as case management, case consultation, and parenting education, with a focus on building the capacity of staff and caregivers to understand the social and emotional development of young children birth to 5 years old.  Children and their caregivers are provided with in-person services in the community, home and/or telehealth services, as appropriate. Morrison’s IECMHC team is committed to strategies that encourage sustainable jobs and workplace wellness and would include reflective supervision, training, and professional development in the plan to support this position.Position Duties and Responsibilities: (Full job description available at interview stage or earlier by request)
  • Provides specific and limited mental health services for children, ages 0-5, and their families: assessment and diagnosis using Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis Treatment (EPSDT).
    • Has knowledge of the Developmental and Clinical (DC) 0-5 crosswalk to DSM
  • Provides case management,
