Purpose

KUT and KUTX seeks a Senior Development Specialist to join our membership department. They will play an integral part in enhancing our mission by providing outstanding coordination of member services, effective leadership and administration of our fundraising database, and execution of initiatives and projects to grow our membership program.

Responsibilities

Data Management:

  • Data analysis - Analyze KUT/KUTX data as well as industry and market trends to assist in the development of long-term strategies; maintain knowledge about the external environment as it relates to fundraising in the broadcasting industry and in general. Update and maintain Membership dashboard and analyze yearly benchmarking projects (e.g. donorCentrics; Greater Public Benchmarks). Provide timely reports on membership data to management.

  • Database functions – Work closely with Membership Specialists to manage regularly scheduled database functions in our CRM database, Allegiance, to ensure proper gift processing and entry, data integrity and a positive member and donor experience. Liaise with Allegiance for database technical issues and with credit card and EFT vendors.

  • Renewals - Manage the renewal process, including working closely with major and mid-level gift officers to ensure prompt delivery of Leadership Circle renewal letters.

  • List management - Generate lists for communications from fundraising emails, to newsletter lists, event invitations and surveys.

Fundraising:

  • With Managing Director, support planning and execution of KUT/KUTX annual membership fundraising plan across all platforms for all fundraising functions including; sustaining giving, direct mail, gift acknowledgements, membership drives, thank you gifts, text campaigns, telemarketing, year-end tax receipts, and events.

  • Manage all aspects of the Sustaining Gifts program including: data analysis and reporting to ensuring program is operating correctly; developing solicitation calendar to ensure program grows and deepens engagement with loyal members; sending monthly communication to sustainers; developing a strong recapture plan ensuring sustaining numbers are as high as possible; with the Membership Specialist ensure weekly and monthly gifts (credit card and EFT) are processed; manage one-off communication with sustaining members (emails and phone calls).

  • Coordinate direct mail program for additional gift, lapsed and acquisition solicitations.

  • Coordinate outbound call recapture program, both in-house and with third party vendors.

General:

  • Coordinate purchasing for Membership/Development department.

  • Coordinate thank you gift purchasing including: requesting bids from vendors; determining pricing for items; ordering thank you gifts; and tracking orders from suppliers.

  • Supervise part-time and student workers on an as needed basis.

  • Coordinate and manage special projects as assigned.

  • Attend and participate in all relevant KUT/KUTX events. Drive University Vehicle to events and meetings as needed.
