About the role

JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Enterprise Partnerships leads the global strategy, strategic planning, and account management of global/multi-market partnerships in Lifestyle & Ecosystem partner verticals (Uber, Starbucks, etc.).   This position will be responsible for overseeing the global/multi-market partnerships within the vertical and providing consultative support to the Continent teams that lead similar or related partnerships within their regions.

 

This role will oversee complex initiatives and/or projects, ensuring they are completed on time and deliver exceptional results.  The Director will be responsible for driving momentum on new partnerships, managing the day-to-day partner relationships (contract compliance, partnership agreement renewals, annual partnership strategy/plan implementation), and leading partnership growth (expansion across enterprise, new market growth, etc.) with the purpose of driving engagement with Marriott customers and creating mutual value with the partners. 


This position requires strong interpersonal, negotiation, strategic planning, and project management skills. The candidate should have strong communication skills  with the proven ability to create comprehensive partnership plans, drive outcomes through strong collaboration with stakeholders, and be adept at managing multiple priorities at once. Success is predicated on the ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders across Legal, Marketing, Finance, IT, Continents, Loyalty, and other business units. Ideal candidate will be innovative and data-driven with a passion for loyalty programs and travel.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major.
  • Eight or more years of experience in hospitality, business, or related industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and patterns of exceptional performance.
  • 4 years’+ experience in partnerships, marketing, and/program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior-level relationships in all portions of a project.
  • Capabilities include: 
  • Partnerships – proven track record of building, launching, and/or managing innovative marketing or loyalty-based partnerships
  • Project Management – proven track record of managing complex, cross functional projects with internal and external teams
  • Contract Negotiations – experience negotiating business terms, implementing partnership agreements, and working with Legal teams to navigate complexities
  • Account Management – experience in managing external partners, building relationships, developing partnership strategies, and establishing mutual objectives

Preferred

  • MBA
  • Historical knowledge of Marriott’s existing loyalty program and/or partnerships; well versed in working with existing MI groups (Marketing, IT, Finance, Legal, F&B, PR, Operations, Continents).      

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

                    

Enterprise Partnerships Program Management

  • Leads Marriott Bonvoy global ecosystem partner vertical strategy and the account management of the global/multi-market partnerships in Lifestyle & Ecosystem partner verticals (Uber, Starbucks, etc.).
  • Directs the creation of annual joint business plans with each partner including key internal disciplines where appropriate and leads core initiatives on each joint business plan across the organization.
  • Manages contract renewal process for each partner and consults on the negotiation strategy for the business terms with the Continents teams, working closely with Legal and Finance on business implications.
  • Oversees Lifestyle & Ecosystem partnerships roadmap.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; fosters a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to Global Partnerships goals and initiatives.
  • Works closely with Marketing, Legal, Finance, IT, Operations, Digital, Loyalty and others to ensure successful partnership activation and ongoing program management.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners, ensuring ongoing collaboration, mutual benefit, and business results.
  • Monitor partnership performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
