About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Nerdery, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, using technologies such as React and Gatsby while consuming content from a headless Drupal instance using pipelines and environments such as Pantheon, AWS, and GCP. You will also have the opportunity to work directly in Drupal, and Drupal experience is a big plus - as well as being able to take on stretch assignments to help you reach your professional development goals.

What you'll do

• Designing and implementing front-end using React and Gatsby or another React framework (e.g. Next.js)

• Write readable, maintainable code for a client with minimal technical oversight,

• Manage facets of the project as applicable like Quality, Performance, and Security.

• Be a contributing part of a project team by assuming responsibility for the architecture and development of complex components

• Collaborating directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements

• Communicate with Nerdery employees and Nerdery clients about task status, availability, and questions about technology

Requirements

What you Bring

● 5+ years of professional experience within the software industry

● 3+ years of experience as a front-end developer with React

● 2+ years of experience with Gatsby, Next, or a similar React framework

● Familiarity with automated unit testing

● Experience working in a distributed, agile environment planning and executing on a project using Agile methodologies

● Confident with use of Git for version control

● Experience with AWS or GCP, loosely in a DevOps capacity is a plus.

● Experience developing continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment pipelines\

Nice to Have

● Professional experience with Drupal 8+, PHP, and Composer, Pantheon/Acquia, relational databases and working in a full-stack capacity is a big plus. Experience in project management or coordination.
