Sr. Radiologic Technologist (Outpatient), Full Time, 8 hr. Day shift, Corcoran Medical Office

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. Job Summary:

Performs general and specialty radiographic studies, quality image processing and direct patient care for diagnostic interpretation. Supervises and mentors outpatient imaging personnel. Maintains equipment.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Three years' radiology experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Essential Functions:

• Operates radiographic equipment to produce radiography images of designated areas of the body as requested by physicians. Alerts radiologists to preliminary findings and diagnoses. Prepares, administers and monitors contrast media. Adheres to radiation precaution standards.
• Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate. Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures and continually monitors and records vital signs. Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications and performs associated interventions as needed.
• Verifies all images in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Completes and appropriately charges all radiography images for radiologist interpretation. Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Trains, supervises and mentors outpatient imaging personnel. Manages staff scheduling as needed. Continually monitors for and implements performance improvement opportunities.
• Establishes sterile barriers and sets up specialty instruments, supplies and equipment as needed. Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, updating and documenting records as needed. Maintains appropriate supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
