Description

SUMMARY

The Mortgage Servicing Intern is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations for the Mortgage Servicing department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary.

  • Greets customers that will be closing on loan renewals, loan modifications, payment deferrals
  • Logs in the system all collection conversations and mortgage servicing activities
  • Assists in typing agendas for meetings
  • Assists with reports for Mortgage Servicing meetings
  • Files correspondence
  • Orders and keeps inventory of supplies
  • Assist in calls to borrowers
  • Mails Mortgage Servicing correspondence to borrowers, records, and distributes all incoming mail
  • Provides secretarial and administrative support to ensure effective and efficient office operations
  • Compiles and maintain an up-to-date telephone directory of numbers and addresses
  • Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary
  • Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy
  • Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations
  • Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D and 6-12 months of experience in an office environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
  • A significant level of respect, honesty, trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature (these individuals may be economically and emotionally stressed at times)
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary
  • Position requires the ability to sit for long periods of a time in front of a computer which may result in eye strain
  • Knowledge of office administration and excellent telephone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information into system
