JOB TITLE:   

Coordinator, Annual Giving

JOB PURPOSE:

The Annual Giving Department at the UW Foundation works to further our mission statement: Build loyalty to inspire our donors to make an impact at UW. We do this by investing in innovative technologies and platforms and by learning new strategies and approaches to communicate with our donors. We strive to create a varied and inclusive donor experience in an effort to reach all groups of existing and future donors— exactly where they are. 

The UW Foundation raises an average of $50 million a year in private support and the Annual Giving Department is responsible for generating $11 million of those gifts. These donations go directly toward supporting students, faculty, and university initiatives. Building and cultivating successful relationships with a wide range of donors requires big ideas and keeping up with the latest developments and trends in philanthropy. The Annual Giving Coordinator will work to create an exceptional donor experience by implementing the Annual Giving strategy. This position will be responsible for coordinating ongoing solicitations and campaigns such as direct mail solicitations, digital solicitations, Giving Day, crowdfunding campaigns, and targeted stewardship strategies. Candidates for this position should be supportive and collaborative team members, eager to learn and motivated to progress in their professional leadership. This role will have the ability to influence the Annual Giving strategy and help build the next generation of donors who will impact the University of Wyoming. The Annual Giving Coordinator reports to the Manager of Annual Giving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Works with the Manager of Annual Giving and Annual Giving interns to ensure timely execution of all Annual Giving deadlines.

Mail, Email & Digital Solicitations: 

  • Works with Annual Giving Manager to coordinate the timely execution of all solicitations, which include: requesting and auditing data, tracking campaigns on multiple calendars, creating and reviewing content for solicitations, and communicating with all involved parties for successful project completion.
  • Actively strives to be knowledgeable of industry best practices for all solicitation channels and annual giving strategies.

Giving Day:

  • Assists Annual Giving Manager in coordinating and executing Giving Day strategy, which includes but is not limited to: coordinating ongoing meeting schedule with all campus partners, working with campus partners on their Giving Day strategy; setting up campaigns, tracking all tasks that need to be completed before during and after Giving Day.
  • Executes an engagement strategy for student organizations and young alumni
  • The Annual Giving Coordinator will become proficient in all Annual Giving technology platforms and will have the ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise on Giving Day to offer quick solutions.

Crowdfunding:

  • Administrates crowdfunding platform software and takes an active role in improving all campaigns hosted on the platform by auditing campaigns on a regular basis
  • Assists campus partners in setting up campaigns on crowdfunding platform.

Stewardship: 

  • Helps to track and audit Annual Giving gifts 

Communication:

  • Communicates information effectively with all parties on behalf of the Annual Giving Department, both internally and externally. 
  • Works to be transparent and inclusive in all forms of communication.

Collaboration:

  • Establishes and grows relationships with campus partners, internal partners, and third-party vendors.

Other:

  • Other duties assigned by the Manager of Annual Giving and the Director of Annual Giving.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience:  1 year work-related experience
