Job Description
Element 84 is looking for experienced DevOps engineers with strong AWS experience to support projects across multiple application domains. This engineer will work with technical teams and customers to lead and support designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native solutions for complex operational systems. The ideal candidate would have experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise software within AWS.
Here are examples of things you might be working on:
- Working with technical project teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions.
- Working with security experts to understand organizational security requirements and creating secure implementations.
- Writing and maintaining code to manage infrastructure within dozens to hundreds of AWS accounts.
- Maintaining CI/CD automation including Jenkins pipelines, GitHub Actions, Gitlab Pipelines, or similar tooling.
- Writing automation scripts in Python, bash/zsh, JavaScript, and other languages.
- Writing and maintaining code to support Generative AI applications on domain-specific datasets.
- Plan, assist, and perform migration of on-prem systems into AWS.
- Automating the creation of operating system images and containers.
- Defining standards for DevOps success across Element 84 and customer organizations.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience working in software development, 3+ years working with Cloud Technologies
- Ability to clearly document and communicate architectural concepts at multiple levels including delivering presentations, creating visual designs, and writing white papers.
- Experience negotiating tradeoffs between security, performance, maintenance, and cost.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work between competing priorities across multiple customers.
- Experience working with an Agile Development software team
- Writing and maintaining infrastructure as Code (Cloudformation, Terraform, CDK)
- Strong experience with Linux environments
- Strong experience developing in Python or another high-level language (Bash, Javascript)
