We are actively hiring for a Commercial Auto Physical Damage Appraiser!
Your Role:
Employee who works virtually with significant authority over physical damage assignments of high complexity and coordination. Expert in all aspects of commercial non-injury related matters. Independently evaluates, negotiates, and settles auto physical damage claims along with other suffixes (i.e. property damage), which includes evaluation and estimating mechanics. Will handle claims in any geographic venue.
Plays a direct role in the development of other Adjusters through mentorship, training, and coaching.
Your work:
- Responsible for commercial partner relationships, contract enforcement and due diligence
- Viewed as senior resource in given field for department and/or unit.
- Independently evaluates, negotiate and settles physical damage claims along with other suffixes (i.e. property damage), which requires physical inspection and evaluation.
- Prepares file for authority review with supervisor or manager.
- Works within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments requiring specialist knowledge.
- Negotiates settlement of claim with insured, third party and attorneys.
- Process payments appropriately and review with supervisor beyond authority, including resolving claims coverage issues.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
- 3+ years of claims experience
- 2+ year physical damage and total loss experience
- Possesses demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of successful progression through job family levels, inclusive of auto-body repair practices and procedures for general auto, Specialty, and special lines exposures.
- Strong and effective negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Basic math and computer skills along with the technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible, changing environment
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Knowledge of auto repair estimates and systems
- Basic math and computer skills with technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proficient in utilizing estimating software and systems
- Ability to train back-up staff
- Ability to build and maintain a nation-wide shop/vendor date base
- Ability to interpret policy language and resolve claims coverage questions (CCQs)
- Ability to rate condition, run evaluation and to conclude total losses
