JOB SUMMARY:

We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas’ US Operating Centers. This internship program offers current college students with real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services organization. You will participate in a 10-week internship located in Westlake Village, CA for 32-40 hours per week.

As a Business Analyst Intern, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to real-world projects and gaining valuable experience in the field of Business Management. You will have an opportunity to share new perspectives, fresh ideas, specialized strengths, and technical skills to help grow our business. 

Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducting research and compiling data about business processes 
  • Analyzing internal processes, data and problems and identify benefits from enabling new capabilities
  • Supporting the business analysis team in developing business plans and strategies
  • Helps organize data repository and support documentation
  • Assist in developing training materials, handouts, and desktop procedures
  • Works closely with business analysis team to understand the role of a business analyst within an IT organization
  • Make suggestions for improvements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY: Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

Education/Experience:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Management, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

  • Analyzing & Interpreting Data – ability to understand and conclude from quantitative or qualitative data
  • Attention to Detail – focusing on the details of work content, work steps and final work products
  • Innovation – Imagining and devising new and better ways of doing things
  • Leveraging Technology – applying technology for improvements in process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyzing & Interpreting Data – drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative or qualitative data
  • Tools – Experience in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc. and any BPM software
  • Effective communication. Must have ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to successfully manage working relationships with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective collaboration skills in working with teams and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Action-oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

  • Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
  • Travel: 0-10%
  • Schedule will be hybrid, with 3 days on-site expected
