- Must be a high school graduate; college graduate preferred.
- Valid certifications (or willingness to obtain) including:
- CPR/AED and First Aid
- MHSAA CAP (any level)
- Previous cheer participation required; coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding pertaining to sport, strategies, rules, etc.
- Knowledge and Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high school student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated coaching strategies and methods that align with the District's Student-Focused Coaching and Leadership Philosophies.
- Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions for the team you are assigned to, in accordance with the FRCS Athletic Coaching Handbook and District Policies.
- Maintain a consistent presence and commitment to the program, prioritizing responsibilities to the program throughout the season.
- Communicate and enforce all school, league, and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and personal development among team members.
- Work collaboratively with the athletic department and coaching staff to ensure a safe and well-organized program.
- Represent Flat Rock Community Schools in a professional and respectful manner at all practices, meets, and school-related events.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
