Job Description

Position is for a Senior Architect who can execute the architectural design and technical aspects of a project, along with the ability to oversee and mentor other more junior level staff members.  

**Note that this position will ideally work in a hybrid work model.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

• Leader of Design and Technical aspects of projects
• Engage with client’s to understand the Project requirements, lead client and consultant meetings, guide the design process with thoughtful insight and best practice knowledge
• Experience in managing scope and budget on projects over $2M in construction, within educational sector is preferred, but willing to consider all experiences 
• Experience in all aspects of the project is preferred: design development, working drawings, contract administration, and field services
• Guide and mentor junior staff though all stages of the project
• Monitoring of project controls and associated reporting as well as profit & loss responsibilities for the practice 
• Lead business development and marketing initiatives, bid preparation including RFP, tendering documentation and willingness to support project managers in stakeholder meeting

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Masters degree a Plus.  
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience as a project architect, Educational sector, can be Higher Education or k-12.   Experience within NY State is a plus.  
• Licensed Architect preferred
• Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures; specifically in New York
• Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills
• LEED certification preferred
• Proficient in REVIT  and other drafting programs such as AutoCAD
• Must be willing to travel to client/project sites as needed.
