SUMMARY:
As a Senior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for performing highly complex duties including design, mapping, development, installation, upgrade, integration, administration, and maintenance of the organization’s wired and wireless network infrastructure. The Senior Network Administrator role would be responsible for the management and support of enterprise network, firewall, and network connectivity. The role would also aid in the administration of Windows environment for assigned Business Units. This role would serve as a networking subject matter expert and partner with other Business Unit teams as needed.
This is an onsite role based in Mobile, AL or Pensacola FL. Preferred candidate is expected to be physically in the office and move between Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL as required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform highly complex duties in the design, development, integration, and administration of the organization’s networks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve the most complex network performance and connectivity problems.
- Develop and monitor reliability and integrity of network infrastructure and operating systems.
- Implement and adhere to network security standards, procedures and IT policies including detection, auditing, logging, etc.
- Support network and system backups, anti-virus protection, spam, spyware, disk, and data storage managements including archiving etc.
- Define, manage, and troubleshoot firewall policies.
- Perform packet captures when to address network traffic issues.
- Regularly monitor, analyze, and interpret firewall logs.
- Periodically review and recommend firewall rules modification to ensure adherence to company policy and business requirements.
- Perform network maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of network related issues including internet access, internal servers and applications, remote access, phone systems, Wi-Fi and printers.
- Performs project leadership functions for network installation projects.
- Participates in planning and managing large migration and conversion projects.
- Researches and evaluates hardware and software for compatibility, serviceability, design, and performance.
- Develops specifications and recommends the purchase of network related hardware and software.
- Support patch management and upgrades for various network equipment and infrastructures, ensuring infrastructure firmware are updated and security vulnerabilities remediated.
- Support multiple Windows servers, active directory domains, and Azure environment.
- Assist with the administration of O365 exchange and Active Directory environment.
- Assist other IT and business teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause and provide technical support when needed.
- Document network operating procedures, diagrams, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques used to accomplish the requirements of the position.
- Works with team members on maintaining an inventory tracking mechanism for software and software licenses; printer hardware; terminal hardware; and data jacks and ports.
- Provides technical guidance as necessary to other team members.
