Your Impact

As Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting you will oversee a team of ~6 professionals focused on the revenue close, ownership of the revenue systems (especially RevStream but including with SFDC and D365), managing the close and relationship with Axon’s auditors.   

 The role requires experience with Revenue Recognition, process and system improvement as well as strong team leadership skills.  

The role will partner with non-finance related executives and managers within Operations, IT and Business Development and implement processes to satisfy Axon’s customer expectations and accelerate the close. 

What You’ll Do 

Location: SF Bay Area, Scottsdale, AZ or Seattle, WA or Boston, MA or Atlanta, GA or Sterling, VA or Denver, CO
Reports to: Director, Revenue Accounting
Direct Reports: 6

  • Leads, coaches, and develops the US team responsible for complete and accurate revenue recognition utilizing RevStream, Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and adjacent systems 
  • Oversight of Product, SaaS, Software and professional service-related accounting partnering with sales and operations for continuous improvement 
  • Partners closely with Sales, Commercial Controllership, Commercial Operations and FP&A to ensure precise, accurate, complete, and timely reporting of revenue and cost of goods and services 
  • Manages and communicates throughout the monthly and quarterly financial close process with all stakeholders, including Commercial Controllership, FP&A, SEC Reporting, Accounting Operations, Tax, Sales, Commercial Operations, Internal Audit, external auditors and executive leadership. 
  • Sets and achieves Key metrics for your team. 
  • Develops a deep understanding of the Company’s lead-to-cash cycle. 
  • Draft, implement and execute policies, system changes and procedures to facilitate an effective and efficient revenue close cycle 
  • Conducts training of both the stakeholders affected by these processes as well as the professionals who perform quoting and order processing 
  • Partners with the information technology department to develop robust requirements for system enhancements, testing of all system changes before they go into production and monitoring of system performance 
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes, systems, and productivity to enable the Company to continue to scale as it grows both in existing markets and in new markets across both domestic and global geographies and customer segments 

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience leading revenue accounting teams in a dispersed work environment.
  • Strong experience of managing close auditors. 
  • Experience with revenue close using a revenue engine. 
  • Global public company experience subject to SOX regulation, preferably with technology companies, operating across diverse regulato
