The expected ENTRY pay range for this position, based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $73,500.00 to $84,750.00.

This position is exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position

This Special Projects Manager is responsible for the planning, development, management and implementation of complex special projects for the department in areas such as administration, policy and procedure, process improvement and/or operations.  This position will support the department’s Continuous Improvement (CI) Program.  These projects will be used by the department’s executive leaders, department managers, and APD staff to guide the department in reaching its overall mission, vision, and values.

Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position is on-site and in-person but may be eligible for a hybrid teleworking schedule following six months of employment within the role (dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch).

Position Qualifications

We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or related field

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of related professional administrative experience managing complex projects that include research and analysis

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications:

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements on a year for year-basis.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver’s license. 

Our Preferred Candidate has:

  • Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Experience managing complex projects for a public agency to include departmental policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with court processes and structure. 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Methods of performing complex, administrative, organizational and procedural analysis.
  • Principles of public administration, organization and management.
  • Process improvement methodologies and approaches.
  • Application of theories and principles of performance measurement, statistical analysis, and other quantitative/qualitative research methods.

Skill in:

  • The use of standard office equipment, computer applications including spreadsheets, database and/or word processing software such as MS365 suite.
  • Managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product.
