Examples of duties
Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties:
- Performs facility-wide surveillance and data collection as part of an overall infection-control program.
- Investigates possible incidences of infection and implements remedial action.
- Works with the infection control committee and LDVA Compliance team to establish infection control standards and procedures.
- Educates staff on how to prevent and control infections.
- Informs the appropriate staff and state organizations of any reportable infections and diseases.
- Participates in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.
- Requires advanced education and training in the position's specialty area as required by regulatory mandate.
- Reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or the Director of Nursing.

Compensation: This position is eligible for retention pay (per hour worked) and shift differential.
