Senior Field Applications Engineer

 

In this role, the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will be responsible as the key technical contact for a customer using Qorvo Ultra-Wideband (UWB), Bluetooth Low Energy, and/or Matter solutions. The FAE will be involved in troubleshooting issues with the customer as well as promoting Qorvo technology to prospective customers. The FAE should work closely with sales and marketing to align and identify strategic customers to support. They should also work closely with the business unit to resolve customer issues and share feedback on how the Qorvo solution can be improved or modified to better suit customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Reproduce and troubleshoot customer issues
  • Act as liaison between customer and Qorvo internal teams
  • Work with Tier 1 customers on hardware and software aspects
  • Assist customers in getting started with evaluation boards and SDK
  • Validate performance on Qorvo evaluation boards and customer hardware

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with C/C++ and Python
  • Familiar with intimate details of at least one wireless protocol (UWB, Bluetooth, Matter, Zigbee, WiFi, etc.)
  • Experience working on microcontroller-based systems (ARM, RISC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of serial protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc.)
  • Familiar with basic lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, power supply)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Experience working with customers and/or strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to ramp up quickly
  • Synchronization with team members in Europe (early calls)
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • 3+ years of working experience

Ways to Stand Out:

  • Previous experience working with UWB, Bluetooth, or Matter
  • Strong in writing scripts in Python for automation and parsing data
  • Experience in Android and/or Linux environments
  • Experience in using git and Gitlab
  • Experience with PCB Schematic/Layout design and reviews
  • Familiar with RF lab equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, etc.)
  • Experience with antenna design
  • Exposure to high level system understanding

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $129,500-$168,500 relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
