About the MedArrive Senior Field Provider Role:

Our Senior Field Providers, (Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT or Paramedic), play a vital role at MedArrive to impact the lives of the patients and families in our community. The Senior Field Provider will care for a panel of patients directly, while also taking on additional support roles including coaching, mentoring, and ongoing education to support our team of field providers. 

General Field Provider Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct holistic care, in collaboration with the Advanced Practice Provider and Social Worker
    • Direct skills included but not limited to:
      • Educating patients and their families on ways to manage their health and well being
      • Using critical thinking skills and following evidence-based standards of practice
      • Completing home safety checks and environmental assessments
      • Taking vital signs
      • Conducting medical history, medication inventory, and facilitate a physical exam with the Advanced Practice Provider
      • Providing basic wound care
      • Administering vaccinations within vaccination program 
      • Phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Collaborate with Clinical Team and provide triage to prioritize interventions 
  • Daily monitoring of patient care plans to improve panel outcomes 
  • Identify gaps in resources and solutions to address these gaps 
  • Present the data obtained for discussion with cross functional teams 
  • Strategize to improve care delivery model and streamline workflows
  • Work as a collaborative partner to our Payors
  • Participate in continuing education as required by the state(s) in which you are licensed
  • Provide care with compassion and empathy
  • Communicate effectively with patients, partners, and all individuals involved in the patient’s care 

Senior Field Provider Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clinical leadership to support needs of field providers as they relate to the Longitudinal Programs while managing a panel of patients 
  • Team support including: routine field provider Chart Audits to ensure documentation expectations are met, onboarding support for new hires, mentoring/coaching existing field providers, in-person ride-alongs, and education
  • Support clinical leadership in guiding improved patient outcomes, monitoring program metrics, while encouraging and promoting efficiency
  • Periodic travel as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT or Paramedic
  • 2+ years experience working with healthcare providers and clinicians in support, operations, program, or project management
  • Experience and proficiency working with an Electronic Medical Record system 
  • Ability to communicate and interact with Senior Leadership and external executive audiences
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills to ensure that each of your interactions with patients, families, and team members is effective and meaningful

Preferred Requirements:

  • Board-Certified Community Paramedic 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Energy and enthusiasm consistent with working for a startup; ability to self-teach in order to problem solve, takes initiative
  • Demonstrated understanding of community resources in Texas, with a particular focus on Houston and/or Dallas
  • Successful at patient engagement and utilizing motivational interviewing techniques
  • Successful track record of establishing credibility and trust with a diverse patient population
  • Strong critical thinking, creative problem solving, judgment, and client management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities
