To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Review personnel security forms and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal investigative standards before submitting cases for initiation. Verify and extract applicant and investigation data in automated systems (e.g., CVS, NBIS and verify accuracy to support case processing and adjudicative workflows. Conduct preliminary checks including fingerprint results, employment verification, and criminal history queries to identify potential issues requiring further review. Monitor investigation status and communicate with investigative service providers and agency security officials to resolve delays or information gaps. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level. To substitute education for experience at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet one of the following requirements below: A. Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field of study. (Transcript required at the time of application) OR, B. Have a combination of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level and graduate education. Selective Placement Factor(s) must be met in order to receive further consideration. You will be given the opportunity to address these when you apply on-line. Must have at least one year of experience utilizing web-based enterprise case management or personnel security tracking systems to support a company or agency in the processing of initial background investigation package intake, case scoping, or adjudicative actions in accordance with national security, suitability, or personnel vetting standards. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
