Job Description
As an Admin and Bookkeeping Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, wearing multiple hats and playing a crucial role in our startup’s success. You’ll manage a diverse range of administrative tasks while also maintaining our financial records, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting our growth trajectory. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment, working directly with industry experts and contributing to the development of a promising new venture in the engineering consultancy space.
Responsibilities
- Manage and streamline communication channels, including email correspondence and follow-ups
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to our team of experienced engineers
- Handle financial record-keeping and basic bookkeeping tasks
- Assist with data entry, calculations, and financial reporting
- Support sales efforts through various administrative tasks
- Implement and maintain efficient digital and physical filing systems
- Manage schedules and calendars for the leadership team
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives as we scale our operations
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in admin and/or bookkeeping is required for this role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with bookkeeping software (Xero or Quickbooks)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially in financial data entry
- Basic understanding of business finance and accounting principles
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills as the company grows
- Experience in or passion for the engineering or mining sectors is a plus
