Equipment Technicians are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in their assigned area. We work in partnership with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers and tool vendors. We supervise tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve equipment issues.

As a Technician, your job duties will require physical activity including standing and/or walking for long periods of time; climbing, crouching, kneeling, or crawling on uneven terrain; working in confined spaces; and using hand tools while arms raised above head level. Some roles require certification and use of a respirator.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve electrical and mechanical problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts
  • Perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Rebuild manufacturing equipment as needed
  • May perform equipment modifications as advised by engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
  • Applied knowledge of mathematical concepts and problem-solving at least into an algebraic level
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of SPC principles and proper application
  • Flexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments including night shift
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) with the need to stand the entire shift and lift equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in industry related associate degree; working towards a STEM related degree; equivalent military training and experience; equivalent work experience
  • Applied proficiency in mechatronics, robotics, fundamentals of electricity, technical writing, electrical power and machinery, or statics
  • Prior semiconductor experience
