Quality Technician – Greenfield Indiana 

Standard schedule is 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am. Overtime during the week is typically 2:30pm – 12:00am and Saturdays when needed. Schedules are subject to change based on business need.

Quality Technician

The Quality Technician is responsible for independently performing dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with manufacturer and industry quality standards. The Quality Technician supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying defects, assisting in process control development, and maintaining quality records.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

 What You Will Do:

  • Perform dimensional and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects and ensure adherence to engineering specifications and process requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality standards including GD&T.
  • Perform product tests per applicable company standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process controls, inspection frequencies, and audit requirements to improve product quality.
  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming or defective material for review and disposition.
  • Conduct routine audits of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Conduct quality checks using measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures, calipers, micrometers) to verify product quality, functionality, and ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Collect, record, and analyze quality data to support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and communicate inspection reports and findings to supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to address challenges and improve processes.
  • Maintain safety compliance and a clean, organized workspace; perform basic equipment checks.
  • Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months to 1 year of quality inspection or related manufacturing inspection role.
  • Knowledge using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to visually inspect, measure, and utilize testing equipment effectively.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience performing audits and supporting root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality improvement tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to handle inspection tools and product components with precision.
  • Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).
  • Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
