We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available storage services. If this is you, at Oracle you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact.

As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff, you will work with senior architects and product management to define requirements. You will be expected to have significant participation in design, architecture and develop proof of concept. You should have distributed systems experience, knowledge of storage technologies, AI/ML, and File systems. You will be expected to act as a technical leader on your team and demonstrate core values for other more junior engineers. You would write code, review code written by your peers, and write test automations. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

 

To succeed with these responsibilities will require:

  • Bachelors or masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
  • Storage, File System, and AI/ML knowledge is a plus.
  • Cloud experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience with a major Programming language such as Java and C++.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Very strong knowledge of databases, storage, distributed persistence technologies, file protocols and standard network architectures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
