The Commercial Banking Finance & Business Management team is seeking an energetic and naturally proactive professional to support and insert yourself into the Middle Office organization. You will have a penchant for story-telling with financial data, and be a rockstar in PowerPoint. This is a high-impact opportunity on our Finance & Business Management team ensuring senior management across the Commercial Bank have visibility into major initiatives, business metrics, financials and data insights to achieve their strategic objectives.
As the Finance & Business Management, Vice President supporting the Middle Office organization you will help optimize business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks, as well as opportunities. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business.
Job responsibilities
- Partner with Middle Office and Commercial Bank Finance & Business Management to prepare executive presentations – ability to package and present projections and performance trends by bringing financials and data together to tell a cohesive story
- Design management reporting packages to communicate business results in a transparent and concise manner
- Coordinate deliverables with business managers, finance, project managers and other Finance & Business Management teams
- Conduct analysis and create executive level presentation using PowerPoint or PitchPro+
- Analyze complex data sets, assess KPI trends, and create impactful analysis using statistical analysis tools to assist in developing strategy
- Partner with Middle Office and Commercial Bank Finance & Business Management team to budget and forecast headcount and direct expenses
- Optimize 'bottom line' business performance by driving key initiatives in alignment with business strategy (fees, cost base, RWA and capital utilization)
- Identify, escalate and mitigate business risks that could impair our ability to do business: e.g. legal, tax, regulatory, capacity issues, extraordinary transaction costs
- Analyze financial performance, including expenses; identify productivity initiatives and drive implementation
- Represent business in respective internal/external working groups
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 10+ years of experience in financial services preferably in front office business support, sales and/or prior Business Management or COO experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or relevant experience
- Knowledge and excessive experience in PowerPoint, and Excel
- Energetic and dynamic in style. Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
- Present well to senior and global business heads
- Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions and influence and provide strategic insights across all stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail with logical thought process
- Able to both define and deliver to conclusion a strategic agenda across multiple groups
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
