Responsibilities
The Embedded Software Engineer will provide support to the technical leader in developing/implementing some of the nation's most technically and important challenges with emphasis on aerospace and undersea GN&C applications for commercial and DoD. The candidate should have strong collaboration and teamwork skills as well as experience in real-time operating systems, middleware, and associated embedded processor technologies that support fault-tolerance, circumvention/recovery, and cybersecurity needs in developing secure and assured systems. This position will have responsibility in system lifecycle, from concept development, requirements analysis, software implementation, unit integration and test, platform integration and test, to software release. Experience with the following is essential: software development lifecycle, process, quality, and mission assurance; System Simulator models development; RTOSs; processor architecture; and embedded system design.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- M.S. or B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 8+ years of professional experience in a related field.
- Excellent computer and analytical skills with experience in full lifecycle software development.
- Experience in one or more of the following operating systems: VxWorks, GHS Integrity, FreeRTOS.
- Experience developing real-time systems using C, C++, RUST.
- Experience with board bring up, device drivers.
- Experience with Systems Models development using Simics.
- Past design experience with UML/SysML.
- Knowledge of compilers, make files and linker scripts.
- Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Sound development and integration skills.
- Excellent problem solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools for version control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with QEMU or ISIM is a plus.
- Familiarity with static and dynamic analysis and continuous integration is a plus.
