Job Description

Atlas is looking for a Project Manager 2 to lead construction materials testing and field services in our Lakewood, CO office. In this role, you’ll guide field teams, manage project delivery, and work closely with clients to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly impact project success, team development, and the communities we serve.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and support field staff, providing daily direction, scheduling guidance, and performance oversight
  • Manage project execution including scope, staffing, client coordination, and issue resolution
  • Review and approve testing reports to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
  • Oversee proposals, billing, and project financial tracking
  • Partner with clients to understand needs, provide updates, and deliver reliable solutions
  • Champion safety by ensuring adherence to PPE requirements and active participation in Atlas safety programs

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, materials testing, geotechnical, or related field
  • Experience leading or coordinating teams in field or lab environments
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, testing processes, and applicable standards (ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, CDOT)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and reports
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple project priorities
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to support field operations

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or related discipline (not required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progression toward licensure
