Senior Technical Program Manager, Module Systems & Integration

The Motional Technical Program Management team is seeking to hire an experienced TPM to develop and support new modules and components as we prepare to launch driverless robotaxis on public roads.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners in Systems, Hardware, Software, and Product to define module requirements, drive technical direction, and outline a technology roadmap for future programs. As your program evolves into production, you will continue to support the modules through product launch. Your day-to-day work will include identifying key gaps and risks around the module (Hardware, Software) and proactively drive risk-mitigations and solution paths with key stakeholders to keep the program on track for Vehicle, Partnerships, and Launch deliverables.
You will be responsible for managing external suppliers through the module development. You will be directly involved in the full product development cycle, from early technical scoping discussions to delivery of Motional’s commercial system. What You'll Do
- Lead forward-looking technical evaluations with Engineering teams to deliver technology modules into our programs
- Effectively manage external suppliers in delivering technical and programmatic requirements/readiness through engineering development and sustaining operations
- Set priorities and coordinate between internal engineering teams and stakeholders to support the module components from concept through launch/sustaining operations
- Manage day-to-day program execution, tracking progress against key milestones and removing blockers and inefficiencies as required
- Identify risks and mitigations, working with your team to develop actions plans and escalate and track issues proactively until closure
- Communicate to leadership in regular forums and provide your team’s analyses and recommendations in a clear and concise way that captures impact
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 to 10 years experience as a TPM or similar role
- Experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary technical programs with competing priorities (cost, schedule, feasibility)
- Experience in creative problem-solving in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Experience in hardware development (autonomous vehicles, consumer electronics, and/or robotics) and manufacturing, and an understanding of software development life-cycles/dependency
- Experienced in managing and driving overarching program-level deliverables including Leadership, partnership skills and a strong sense of urgency and assertiveness
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – must have experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- A passion for learning new concepts and adapting quickly to new environments
- Leadership skills and a sense of urgency
- A degree in Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience
- Capable of initiating and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the company to advance Motional’s business goals.
- Ability to travel when needed

- MS Degree in Engineering or related field
- Familiar with Autonomous vehicle development process and architecture
