Veterinary Technician - General Practice

Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is excited to announce we are hiring Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants for our General Practice Department!

About the job: The general practice veterinary technician manages client appointments and diagnostics for routine and sick visits. Our GP has a high volume of dental procedures, so pre-anesthetic work ups and dental x-ray and cleaning are large portions of the daily workflow. 

How you'll make a difference:

• Run exam room appointments/Obtain bloodwork/xrays/ultrasounds
• Client communication and education about illness and preventive care
• Providing patient care and administration of medications/vaccines
• Dental hygienist, dental x-ray technician, anesthetist based on experience
• Assisting GP Doctors as needed

What you will bring:

• Experience working as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred, but experience and PVT accepted
• Will consider candidates with 2+ years veterinary assistant experience or currently enrolled in veterinary program for a veterinary assistant position in the department
• Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and their owners
• Positive outlook, ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!

Schedule: Full-Time position, 4x10 shifts ranging from 7:00am-8pm, with a blend of weekdays and weekends required

Salary: 

• $22.00 - $27.00 / hour for veterinary technicians based on experience 
• $18.00 - $22.00 / hour for veterinary assistants based on experience
