About the role
Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled support for physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT). This role works with home health patients to improve mobility, strength, function, and independence, while collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions, exercises, and patient education in the home setting
- Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to supervising PT
- Ensure compliance with home health regulations, physician orders, and documentation standards
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operations teams to support patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as directed
- Perform other clinical or administrative duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Associate degree or completion of accredited PTA program required
- Current state licensure/certification as a PTA
- 1–3 years clinical experience in home health, rehabilitation, or outpatient settings preferred
- Ability to follow PT treatment plans, perform interventions, and document patient progress
- Knowledge of home health regulations and documentation standards
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability during business hours with occasional after-hours/weekend coverage
Hours: PRN, Pay-per-visit
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 hourly
