Role Description
Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to manage the development and execution of Form’s global supply chain strategy for critical metal parts used in Form’s pioneering iron-air battery systems. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Global Supply Management (GSM). As part of our GSM team, you will be involved in researching markets, identifying and engaging with suppliers, developing and executing sourcing strategies, and managing key supplier relationships in collaboration with key cross-functional teams. This role is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
Own the parts within the metal finished goods category at Form (with a focus on stamped, formed, and expanded mesh metal parts), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and the broader value chain
Collaborate closely with Form’s Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form’s metal parts sourcing strategy
Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms for metal parts that optimize costs, lead times, and risk to Form by managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting
Secure best-in-class pricing for metal parts through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization
Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating supplier capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply/demand challenges & opportunities
Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by rigorously analyzing component and manufacturing costs, performing risk analyses, forecasting industry trends, and leveraging your own expertise in metals markets and production processes
What you'll bring:
Deep category experience (4+ years) in metal parts strategic sourcing, market/pricing mechanics, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment;
Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts
Fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision making along with strong analytical skills; ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity and make decisions based on partial information
Excellent communication and organizational skills; an optimistic, high-energy “people person” with a strong desire to build collaborative relationships and make things happen
Ability to work both independently and collaborate cross-functionally on multiple tasks and projects; a team-player<
