Senior Network Engineer

Location: Santa Monica, CA, Seattle, WA, or New York City, NY (Hybrid)

The Role 

Our rapidly growing company is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Technical Operations team. The Network Engineer will assist with hardware provisioning and troubleshooting of the production network. They will be expected to resolve advanced technical issues related to computer vision cameras, edge computer modules, and network connectivity. 

  

Responsibilities 

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support organizational needs. 
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. 
• Implement and manage OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) for efficient routing and optimal network traffic flow. 
• Automate network management and administration tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy. 
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance network reliability and speed. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems. 
• Stay updated with emerging network technologies and best practices. 
• Verify and maintain network documentation, including configuration, standards, processes, and policies 

  

Requirements  

• 3-5 years managing/supporting network infrastructure 

• Strong understanding of network design and topology at its most fundamentals levels 
• Experience with cellular based network connectivity 
• Strong experience in troubleshooting complex problems 
• 3+ years experience with Linux or other *nix based systems 
• Experience in scripting and automation using Ansible and Python 
• Experience deploying and supporting distributed hardware and IOT systems 
• Round-robin on-call schedule

The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000.00 to 180,000.00 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base pay is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
