About the role

POSITION PURPOSE

We are seeking to hire part-time paid position for a physical therapy technician to work in the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions Community Rehabilitation Clinic (CRC). The CRC is a non-profit, pro-bono physical therapy clinic, established to meet the needs of low-income and underserved individuals and families in Utah County. The clinic includes multiple physical therapy services, including orthopedic, neurologic, electrodiagnostic, vestibular, and pediatric specialties.  

Responsibilities include:

·         Clean and organize work area and disinfect equipment after treatment.

·         Observe patients during treatment to ensure safety and answer questions.

·         Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under direction of a physical therapist of physical therapy assistant.

·         Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.

·         Transport patients to and from treatment areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support.

·         Enter statistical data into computer for record keeping. 

·         Confer with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.

·         Keep Records as directed, such as treatment given and equipment used.

·         Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, answering telephone, taking messages, filling out forms or helping patients fill out forms, and scheduling.

·         Maintain equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories.

·         Serves and protects the clinic by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, and as otherwise instructed.

·         Participates in educational opportunities related to job description

·         Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

·         Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Essential Function 
  2. Prior experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred but not required. 
  3. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. 
  4. Professionalism in interactions with patients and clinicians.
  5. Proficiency with computers, Google platform (gmail, calendar, docs, sheets, forms, etc).
