Role Overview:
This position manages a small plant, branch or a department including multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors in Reliability Engineering. Establishes processes, monitors the overall performance of the entire department, and leads training to ensure that reliability standards are upheld. Has department-level profit and loss responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-discipline Certification team for the Seating Business
- Support the Collins Aerospace Seating Business with world class Certification Documentation and Guidance. This means efficiently utilizing highly skilled and fully trained employees to produce high quality documents and data on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance to regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Lead a certification team that works as an integral part of the Seating Portfolio to 1) quotes new programs by determining certification and testing requirements, costs, and resource requirements, 2) develop high level certification plan that details the documents, testing, and submittals for program certification, and 3) provide resources that execute this high lever certification plan; all of which must support the program budget and schedule.
- Work with other Certification and Test leaders to develop common standard work, templates, processes, methods, etc. to be able to 1) efficiently utilize and share certification resources across the interiors organization and 2) effectively use LCC outsourcing resource. This must improve the quality of certification documents, improve on time delivery, and reduce the overall cost to the interiors organization.
- Work with the Head of Airworthiness (and team) to leverage the multiple Collins Aerospace Delegations of Authority with Regulatory Organizations (FAA, EASA, and CAA’s) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, etc.)
- Create, communicate, and support new career development opportunities for Certification Engineers across the Central Engineering Team. These may be cross product line as well as cross discipline
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
